Vision Statement
Our vision is to bring a competition BBQ circuit to the northern part of Minnesota. This circuit is geared to bring backyard BBQ enthusiasts together in one place. The contest consists of slow cooking pork spare ribs provided by Schaefer's Foods of Nisswa, Minnesota.

History
Hi, my name is Big Bob along with my girlfriend and daughter, we own and run Big Bob's Backyard BBQ. Over the years of competing at different contests and dealing with the different ways that each one was being run (not by people who BBQ), we decided to start a company that would come in and run these contests by one consistent set of rules for competing and judging. We are a rib cooking circuit with a whole hog event just to mix things up abit. Just remember you don't have to be a pro to cook at any of these events. Many of us started in our backyards and it soon became a passion that we wish to share with others!

North Star BBQ is committed supporter of MN Teen Challenge. Minnesota Teen Challenge is one of the largest faith- based residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs in the state. The Central Minnesota Teen Challenge, a 65 bed facility for adult men, is located in Brainerd and serves men from across Central Minnesota.
Contest Judging Software
Laughing Pig Barbeque is a company that a good friend and I have started. This company's focus is to bring a bbq software program to help in the judging process of a bbq contest. This software was tested on the North Star Circuit last year. The results were amazing ! This software will be availible in early April.
